Ghost Ranch Volunteer Camp

New Covered Workspace at Pinon, Ghost RanchV-Camp is closed...we have enough people.

Last year we had two wonderful workshops at Ghost Ranch and have settled into the "temporary" quarters in Pinon building.  The Ranch has invested time and money to make the space work for us. Now it is time for us to do a few enhancements ourselves and get the studio ready for the 2017 workshop season.

We will be holding V-Camp on Memorial Day Weekend again.  This gives us one extra day so we will can get a lot of work done and have some fun, too.

The Ranch is providing free housing and meals for those working during Volunteer Camp.  Housing is in Corral block, and we will have separate Men's and Women's rooms, with 3-5 beds in each.  Bathrooms are down the portal.

2016 V-Camp, Jack Roberts, Fixes shelves in studio at Ghost Ranch.V-Camp is a great time for members to get to know one another and to have an exchange of ideas while working to maintain the facility. The mission statement of the NMPCA is to promote education in the ceramic arts, and by maintaining this site we are contributing to the well being of this magical educational facility, making sure it is kept in good working condition for our 2017 workshops and beyond.

Work activities this year include:  Cleaning the gas kiln burners after the flood, moving the saggar kiln up from Pot Hollow, determining shelving in the portal area near the kilns, and cleaning and organizing everything, as usual.

For fun, we plan to have a couple of exciting demonstrations by master potters, and possibly a group play event.

If you have questions, call Barbara Campbell, the event coordinator, at (575) 581-4430 or email becampbell33@gmail.com

We will let you know about any special items to bring, but in general work gloves, work clothes, dust masks for cleanup and sturdy shoes, rakes, shovel, pick-ax, trowel.
