The annual meeting is our one chance a year to all get together in the same place. It’s our chance to laud our clay community and enjoy being all together. There are so many wonderful people in this group and this is our opportunity to put faces to names and possibly meet some new people.
This year has another special feature too. We are holding the annual meeting at the Ghost Ranch. In 2015, we lost our beloved Pot Hollow to a flood. We have now carved ourselves a new spot. Although it’s not completely new we’ve made some additions and the Ranch has added to the facilities as well. We are excited about all the new memories we plan to create in the space. Plus, it will be great fun to show what your donations have brought to the place. We have our feet under us again so that we can continue to offer the workshops that we all love at Ghost Ranch.
Please note we are continuing the tradition of having a pot luck for the annual so bring a dish to share. We will provide drinks and paper goods.
The annual meeting is also where we vote to add board members. It marks the time when those who have served the full amount of time as per the bylaws go off the board. We want to thank Phil Green and Karin for their 6 consecutive years of service. Another board member Michael has received an exciting appointment to a residency in Japan and will be resigning. Our board is not complete filled out so with those vacancies and the 3 mentioned there will be at least 6 positions we can fill. We will be putting forth some names to be considered but there can always be nominations from the floor if anyone would like to throw their hat in the ring as well.
Arrive a bit early at 12:30 PM to enjoy some social time and we’ll get started with the meeting at 1:00 PM and the meeting will last until 3:00 PM. This will give us a little time to cleanup then we all head down the road a bit and make it to the Opening Reception for the Celebration of Clay, “Light and Shadow,” at the Abiquiu Inn. The reception will run from 4-6:00 PM in the Galleria Arriba at the Abiquiu Inn.
